Panama’s Pacific Riviera is preparing for an important improvement in international connectivity.
Starting on October 5, 2026, Wingo is expected to operate a new direct route between Bogotá, Colombia, and the Scarlett Martínez International Airport in Río Hato.
The new service is being introduced through a partnership involving Wingo, tourism operator On Vacation, the Panama Tourism Authority and PROMTUR Panamá.
The nighttime flights are expected to provide capacity for approximately 1,400 passengers per month, allowing Colombian visitors to arrive directly in one of Panama’s most important beach destinations without first traveling through Panama City.
A New Gateway to Panama’s Pacific Coast
Río Hato is strategically located near several of Panama’s most established beach communities and resorts.
Instead of landing at Tocumen International Airport and continuing by road from Panama City, travelers will be able to arrive much closer to destinations across Coclé and Panama’s Pacific Riviera.
This could make weekend escapes, family vacations and longer stays on the Pacific coast considerably more convenient for visitors from Bogotá.
The new route also supports Panama’s broader strategy of attracting international travelers directly to destinations outside the capital and distributing tourism activity across more regions of the country.
